“Climate Resilient WASH project” is developed throughout the rehabilitation process of the landslide affected communities and serious damage to the WASH facilities from intensive climatic disasters and promotes sustainable community development; it’s significant to strengthen the resilience of the WASH system at household, community and school levels. Water supply and sanitation facilities designed in a scientific way to well prepare for and cope with future disasters under the impact of climate change.
Except for climate resilience, gender issues also considered in this project so that women and girls could be empowered and participate in the decision making process about WASH activities. Access of girls and women to WASH and MHH facilities after the disaster event is decreased since women/ girls are restricted to use public taps during the menstruation period.
Through this project, landslide affected populations (focusing on sponsorship children) and their families are supported to recover their WASH in a safe, dignified & protective environment that contributes to strengthen their resilience to climate induced disasters for the longer-term period and locally-led adaptation for WASH through empowering adolescent girls and young women.
