The four-year CAPS project, aimed at combating climate change challenges in food production and security in Nepal’s Karnali region, has been transferred to the three local levels of Jumla. In collaboration with the Ministry of Forestry and Environment of the Government of Nepal, the World Food Program, and Pace Nepal Jumla, the CAPS project was handed over during a recent ceremony. Over the project’s duration, significant accomplishments include the creation of various infrastructures such as drinking water projects, irrigation canals, community buildings, and improved water tanks, all totaling an expenditure of approx 26 crore 69 lakh rupees. The local leaders pledged to continue these positive initiatives to build on the success of the project, contributing to the region’s resilience against climate change impacts.
